Mother & Daughter | Father & Son Vacations

Take a Week to Reconnect

Mother/daughter and Father/Son vacations create a certain bond, and being able to focus exclusively on your child and their interest for an entire week can prove to make memories that last a lifetime. You’ll have the opportunity to learn so much about each other and share some overdue priceless moments. We’ve heard many times that family schedules increasingly overload and the hectic world out there requires the occasional unplug. It’s no easy task to locate and plan all the outdoor activities, accommodations, meals, and other traveling arrangements. Booking flights, car rentals, hotel arrangements, guided trips, finding decent restaurants, and moving from place to place can make a person stress out! If it doesn’t go right, what could have been lifetime memories turns into a bummer.

We Take Care of Everything

So, before you start stressing about creating that perfect “mom and daughter” vacation or “father and son” vacation, you’re search has ended! Red Horse Mountain Ranch is well known to be a “complete” stay. From the time you arrive to the time you depart, we’ll take care of all the little arrangements that make a vacation particularly memorable. For mothers and daughters there’s massage and yoga, fitness hiking, wine tastings (if age appropriate), comfy accommodations, hot tubs, pillow-top beds, and all the amenities of home. Plenty of outdoor activities like horseback riding, kayaking, bike tours, hikes, and just plain old relaxing on a beautiful deck are just some of the other options you have while you’re our guest. Add in fresh foods, someone to handle the laundry, cook for you, and you’ve got the recipe for an amazing ranch vacation. For the father and son vacations, the list of outdoor adventures is seemingly endless. They may not need the comfy beds or be all that interested in wine tastings, but 3D archery, sporting clays, fishing trips, zip lines, advanced horseback riding, and long distance shooting may be exactly what they’re looking for.

Arriving & Departing from the Ranch. A flight arrival from the Spokane Airport on Sunday should be between 12 & 3 pm. Fill out the shuttle request form once you have your flight arrangements and we’ll take care of the details. When you arrive at the ranch, we’ll get you settled into your cabin, give you a short tour around the ranch, and give you some time to relax before our cocktail hour and appetizers. Dinner will be ready at around 6 pm and evening entertainment will begin. Departures will occur after breakfast on Saturday and we’ll be sorry to see everyone head home.

During the week. Throughout the week, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from any of the outdoor adventures we have in store. Horseback riding, mountain biking, fitness hikes, kayaking, sporting clays, bike tours, and so much more! You’ll need the entire week to fit it all in, but don’t forget, relaxing with a good book or a massage are also highly recommended. Every evening has something fun planned from campfires to evenings in our old west saloon. We’ll also have a beautifully crafted multi-course meal paired with some of our favorite wines. It’ll be a week to remember!

Be Prepared to Ride. From beginner to advanced horseback riders, our week is going to be filled with lots of riding if you like. After our orientation ride on Monday, there are advanced, scenic, lunch, and all-day rides scheduled throughout the week, as well as riding lessons. One of our past guests suggests bringing a pair of bicycle shorts to go under your jeans to save your bum. If you don’t have boots, we have boots you can wear but slick soles are a must. You should also make sure to have a few pairs of jeans. Some guests have recommended bringing a pair of leather gloves to ride with during the summer and fall. Mornings can be cool.

Dinners and meals. Our chefs are going to make it very difficult to shed pounds while you’re here. Fresh baked breads, salads and fruits, homemade desserts, and much more are available each day. Some decide to get a little dressed up during our Wine & 5 Course dinner. Don’t have to though. A pair of jeans and boots are regular attire on the ranch. This will be an exciting and fun evening! For those that have food likes or dislikes (and the likes are just as important), don’t forget to fill out your activity forms and tell us. Gluten free, vegetarians, etc are all welcomed!

Should we rent a car? Unless you’re planning to go elsewhere during your vacation, we suggest just taking the shuttle from the Spokane International Airport. Once you have arranged your flights, just fill out the shuttle form, and you’re all set. If you’ll be driving to the ranch, check our website for the best directions, and check out travel ideas from our ranch news page. The only thing you want to watch out for is the navigational GPS units pointing towards forest service roads or away from the main highway as you near the ranch.
